The following table will help you choose the correct binding for your new skate ski based on your boot and performance level. Your binding must match the sole of your ski boot, but any modern binding can be mounted on any ski either directly or by using a mounting plate. Skis that require a mounting plate will have the cost of the plate and labor included in the price when selecting your binding.

We recommend the Propulse RC to most racers on SNS Pilot system boots and flat topped skis. It differs from the RC2 variant largely in its lack of a heel plate.
Rottefella's standard classic binding, we recommend the Xcelerator Classic to all racers on NNN system boots.
We recommend the Propulse RC2 to most racers on SNS Pilot system boots and NIS skis. It differs from the RC variant largely in that it has a heel plate; the RC variant does not.
Equipe Profil Classic
Racers using old SNS system boots with the one-bar Profil outsole will require these bindings to remain compatible. Newer SNS Pilot system boots will also fit in this binding.
Rottefella's last screw in binding before the introduction of the NIS plate, the R3 is still a viable option for racers on NNN system boots and flat top skis who do not wish to use a screw-in NIS plate.
Sport Pilot Classic
We recommend the Sport Pilot Classic to newer racers and recreational skiers on SNS Pilot system boots due to its lower price point, increased stability, and automatic release system.
We recommend the Exercise Classic binding to newer racers and recreational skiers on NNN system boots.
Salomon Profil Auto Universal
We recommend the Profil Auto for recreational skiers on SNS system boots, including those looking to ski off trail and anyone wishing to have a "step in" auto closure.
Touring Auto Classic
We recommend the Touring Auto Classic for recreational skiers on NNN system boots and NIS compatible skis who plan to ski primarily in track. We do not recommend using the Touring Auto Classic in deep, ungroomed snow due to the NIS interface.
We recommend the Basic Auto for recreational skiers and touring on NNN system boots who plan to ski on ungroomed snow or who are mounting to a flat top ski.
Touring Manual Classic
We recommend the Touring Manual Classic for recreational and touring skiers on NNN system boots who wish to have a manual closure mechanism rather than a "step in" binding.
We recommend the Universal Junior binding for young skiers on SNS system boots for both skating and classic skiing. Manual closure.
Xcelerator Jr Classic
We recommend the Xcelerator Junior for young skiers on NNN system boots and NIS skis. Manual closure.
